About This Place

Nestled in Rancho Cucamonga, Fat Burrito is a must-visit Mexican restaurant that captivates locals and visitors alike with its bold flavors and fresh ingredients. Known especially for their extraordinary puffy tacos, this vibrant eatery crafts each tortilla in-house, delivering an authentic texture that’s delightfully light yet satisfying—a culinary experience that stands out in Southern California’s rich Mexican food scene.

At Fat Burrito, the menu bursts with signature dishes like the tender Chile Verde, the hearty Fat Burrito, and the savory Carne Asada Burrito, each packed with vibrant, well-balanced spices and an unmistakable freshness. Customers rave about the One Street Style Taco Each, especially the unique puffy versions which offer a delightful crunch followed by a melt-in-your-mouth sensation. The Taco Plate is another popular choice, offering a perfect sampler for those eager to explore multiple flavors in one sitting.

The kid-friendly section caters thoughtfully to younger guests with cheesy quesadilla options, including a classic Kids Cheese Quesadilla blending melty cheeses inside a warm flour tortilla, and a more robust Kids Meat Quesadilla filled with juicy Pollo Asado, ensuring the little ones enjoy every bite. Complement your meal with expertly prepared sides—creamy guacamole, savory beans, fluffy rice, and freshly warmed large flour tortillas—all designed to round out the dining experience.

Beverage choices at Fat Burrito range from fizzy classics like Jarritos and Mexican Coke, made with pure cane sugar, to refreshing aguas frescas that perfectly complement the bold flavors on the plate. These drinks add an authentic touch and a refreshing balance to your meal.

Guests consistently praise not only the food but also the warm and attentive service. Patrons like Danielle Locke highlight the friendly atmosphere and clean environment, noting polite staff and hospitable service at the register. The atmosphere, while casual and bright, features stools rather than conventional chairs—a stylistic choice that some may find unexpected but that adds to the unique, lively vibe of the restaurant.

Whether you’re craving the beloved carnitas or in search of a vibrant chile verde that perfectly pairs with their standout puffy tacos, Fat Burrito offers a comfortable yet dynamic space to savor Mexican classics with a fresh twist. The restaurant’s passion for authentic, bold flavors shines in every bite, leaving a memorable impression that will draw you back time and again.

The food was amazing! The puffy tacos are really something special (I even got special green ones for St. Patrick’s Day). The service was very good as well. One thing I did not like is that they have stools rather than chairs in the dining area, just a personal preference.

Went today for the first time, 5 stars all the way! We ordered 2 puffy tacos (carne asada) and 2 bean and cheese burritos. The beans were good, seems like they have lard which I love Tortilla is made in house. The puffy taco is a unique experience and I’ve never had anything exactly like it. Great flavors. I’m always team #greensalsa but both are good here. The person taking my order was friendly. Literally couldn’t ask for anything more. We got food to go. It’s a little small inside but def space to eat there.

I believe the puffy carnitas tacos here, are my favorite tacos of all times. The salsa is as well. Place is clean. Staff is polite. Beer is cold.

We wanted to try the puffy tacos and they did not disappoint. We tried the chile verde, carnitas, machaca and al pastor. All excellent! Strongly recommend the chile verde, carnitas, and machaca as they pair well with the puffy tacos, but like I said they were all excellent. Service was also great. Young men at the register was very polite and hospitable. Restaurant was clean and I enjoyed the sing-along from what I believe to be the cooks in the back. Looking forward to going back.

Been meaning to check this place out for awhile and I’m so mad I’ve waited so long. Everything was so delicious and the puffy tacos may have changed my life.

Great little spot, meats are on point and the puffy tacos are a unique item for sure. Lightly fried fresh tortilla gives a nice crispy texture without being greasy and heavy. Will be back for sure!
